We proudly present the renowned Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, nestled within the prestigious grounds of the University of Jos.
As you go through the digital corridors of our esteemed Faculty, we bid you welcome.
Our Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences traces its roots back to October 1983 as the Faculty of Pharmacy and Health Technology at the then Federal University of Technology, Makurdi. Since then, our faculty has upheld a tradition of excellence and dedication to pharmaceutical education, research, and practice. With a rich history of training competent professionals, we take pride in our faculty's journey to becoming a beacon of knowledge and innovation.
In 1984, the Federal University of Technology, Makurdi merged with the University of Jos, and in 1988, the Faculty was transferred to Jos and renamed the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. From that moment on, we have not looked back.
Currently, the Faculty comprises seven departments: Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry; Pharmaceutics; Pharmaceutical Technology and Industrial Pharmacy; Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology; Pharmacognosy and Traditional Medicine; Pharmacology and Toxicology; and Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice. We offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, cultivating a vibrant academic community that fosters knowledge, critical thinking, and practical skills.
