Pharmaceutics contributes to the development and exchange of knowledge within the areas of pharmaceutics and analytical chemistry, both in Nigeria and internationally and to provide the society with new research results and new knowledge. It aims to develop the capacity of students in critical, analytical and logical thinking in the processing of knowledge and skill acquisition in the subject area for entry into the Pharmacy profession.

The philosophy of the Department is to train prospective pharmaceutical scientists in the scientific endeavor concerned with the physicochemical characterization of drugs/related molecules and the investigation of physiological processes affecting their delivery, through effective exposure to concepts and hands-on investigation of mechanisms and processes.
