UNIJOS REFUTES FALSE CLAIMS ABOUT STUDENTS’ ELIGIBILITY TO UPDATE PROFILES
It has come to the attention of Management of University of Jos that false information is being circulated on Social Media claiming that all Students of the University who applied for a change of name or date of birth and received approvals from the Vice-Chancellor since last year, have had these approvals abruptly cancelled. The misinformation further suggests that the implication for the supposed cancellation is that JAMB will not issue them with new Admission Letters reflecting the changes in their profile information, which would purportedly affect their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization eligibility.
The nameless authors behind this report are attempting to compile a list of affected Students and asking them to provide personal information, aiming to present this to the Dean of Student Affairs, and what they refer to as "Senate Admissions Affairs," as well as other so-called relevant offices.
The University Administration wishes to categorically state that these claims are patently false and therefore, urges all Students to remain cautious and avoid manipulation by such mischievious individuals.
Students are assured that any requests for profile changes made for legitimate reasons will be appropriately considered and approved, provided they follow the established channels and procedures for such applications.
Signed
Rejoice James Songden, PhD
Registrar & Secretary to Senate
