MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN It is with great pleasure that I present our prospectus for 2021. 2026. Since the last prospectus was written, there have been considerable changes in legal developments in Nigeria and across the globe, and the course curriculums have undergone some metamorphosis. This prospectus presents our LL.B program and the Diploma in Law Programme in the Faculty. The Faculty of Law, University of Jos is an emerging centre of excellence where we nurture young talents in the field of Law. Our major emphasis in imparting training is to encourage curiosity and innovativeness among our students and lay a foundation from which they can acquire quick learning ability and meet practical challenges in the fast-changing world. The past years have been particularly eventful for the Faculty. Apart from helping the University of Jos attain its present status as the second-best University in Nigeria by Webo Metric rankings, it was among the few Faculties of Law that enjoyed full accreditation from the National University Commission. In addition, we have the first run Student Lab on campus and the first On-Line Legal Research Computer Lab in Nigeria. The two Labs were established with the assistance of the Carnegie Corporation of New York in 2004 and they provide a very stimulating environment and are networked with internet services. We have access to millions of online journals and other materials through the Labs. We have most of the information about every conceivable thing that we assumed was impossible only a decade ago.
