MASCOT DESIGN COMPETITION FOR NUGA 2024 FESTIVAL: ATTENTION TO ALL UNIJOS STUDENTS

It’s time for Students of the University of Jos (past and present) to unleash their creative and design skills as the ‘Unijos 2024’ Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) in conjunction with the Unijos Sports Committee announce the commencement of a Mascot Design Competition for the 2024 NUGA festival being hosted by the University of Jos. Unijos is honored to host this prestigious event and we want all our talented Students, both past and present, to showcase their artistic abilities by creating an original Sports Mascot design that incorporates both the Unijos theme as well as Plateau State scenic and cultural identity. This is a chance for Josites to leave a lasting mark on this exciting event.

Competition Details:

- The competition is open to all past and present Students of the University of Jos.

- The winner of the competition will be awarded a grand prize of 150,000 Naira.

- The second-place winner will receive 100,000 Naira, while the third-place winner will be awarded 50,000 Naira.

- The competition will run for two (2) weeks, starting from Saturday, 25th November, 2023.

- All entries must be submitted on or before Saturday, 9th December 2023, to be eligible for consideration.

Submission Guidelines:

- Participants are to submit their Mascot Design entries to the Chairman of the Unijos Sports Committee or via email.

- Email submissions may be sent to the following addresses: abdullahib@unijos.edu.ng or mafuyail@unijos.edu.ng

- Participants are to please ensure that their entries are received by the specified deadline of 9th December, 2023 to be considered for the selection process:

- At the end of the competition, a panel of esteemed judges will carefully evaluate all entries to determine the winner.

- The design with the highest score based on creativity, originality and relevance to the Unijos and Plateau State themes will be declared the winner.

Let your imagination run wild; let's create a mascot that represents the spirit and vibrancy of the University of Jos and Plateau State. The design should therefore capture the spirit and personality of Unijos and should be stylised such that it's lifesize model can engage and entertain the spectators, whether through antics or appearance.
