PRESS RELEASE
CLARIFICATION ON SECURITY SITUATION IN UNIJOS
The attention of the University of Jos Management has been drawn to a video clip circulating on social media showing pictures of a group of individuals purportedly being attacked by unknown persons with a narrative that they were Students of the University of Jos. Management wishes to clarify that no such incident occurred at the University of Jos.
The University’s stakeholders and members of the public are therefore reassured that normal Academic and other activities are ongoing smoothly within the University, unhindered by any security breaches or disturbances.
It is clear that certain individuals are bent on compromising the Peace the University of Jos has been enjoying for some time now. The misinformation is therefore mischievous and a calculated attempt to create panic and tension in the minds of Students and their Parents.
Members of the public are hereby urged to disregard such misleading information and exercise caution when sharing unverified reports on social media platforms.
The University of Jos, in close collaboration with relevant authorities, is diligently working to maintain a safe and secure environment on campus for all members of the University community as the safety and well-being of the Students and Staff remains the University’s top priority.
