You are welcome to the Department of Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Chemistry. The Department has a unique and broad-based structure that provides a strong multi-discliplinary environment incorporating physical, organic, analytical, medicinal and inorganic chemistry. Staff members including academic staff, technologists and administrative staff are all united in the singular goal of ensuring the provision of quality academic services to the students to enable them succeed and become outstanding graduates. Courses in the Department are aimed at bridging the gap between theories and practical trends and applications. Students are taught topics crossing the boundaries of biology, chemistry and physical sciences.

Research in the Department cuts across various areas of Pharmaceutical Chemistry such as Pharmaceutical Analysis, Natural Product Chemistry, Synthetic medicinal chemistry and Drug Design. In addition to contributing to training undergraduate Pharm. D students of the Faculty, the Department also offers postgraduate programs such as Postgraduate diploma (PGD) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, M.Phil./PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The Department similarly hosts a multidiscliplinary Master of Science (M.Sc.) program in Bioinformatics and Genomics which is run in collaboration with resource persons from other Departments.

We look forward to welcoming new and returning students in addition to potential collaborators.
