UNIJOS VC INAUGURATES COMPLETED PROJECTS

The University of Jos has taken over possession of two recently completed projects in the University from the project Contractors.

The completed projects are the Visiting Scholars Residence which was completely rehabilitated and furnished and the Block 26 Inner Ring Segment at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences which was newly constructed, all at the University’s Naraguta Campus.

Taking over the edifices on behalf of the University Authorities, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Tanko Ishaya appreciated the Federal Government for working towards providing an enabling environment for effective teaching and learning in the University system.

Tanko who described the projects as critical, commended the quality and speed at which the Contractors undertook their assignment while also ensuring that best practices are adhered to.

The Visiting Scholars Residence was executed with the University's Internally Generated Revenue and is a twelve-room apartment with facilities including Gym, Dinning Room, Kitchen, Offices, Reception and a Sit Out porch. The Block 26 Inner Ring Segment is a three-floor block of conveniences for the Faculty of Environmental Sciences funded by the Federal Government Capital Appropriation for the year 2021.

Speaking separately, representatives of the project Contractors, Epinician Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Maikudi Ibrahim and that of Dan Global Limited, Obinna Udeh appreciated the University Administration for finding them worthy to serve in that capacity and assured of their readiness to continue to partner with the University.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Rahila Gowon and Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Professor Gideon Baklit both appreciated the work done and assured of proper maintenance and utilization of the structures especially those built through the University’s Internally Generated Revenue.
