PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
INVITATION TO UNIJOS DISABILITY AWARENESS OUTREACH AND PUBLIC LECTURE SERIES
The University of Jos Volunteer Group in collaboration with the Advancement Office cordially invites Staff, Students, Members of the University Community and the General public to a Three Day Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Programme.
Activities lined up to mark the programme include PWD Awareness Outreach and Sporting events, Maiden UNIJOS Disability Inclusion Lecture Series to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and Community Service for the Physically Challenged.
The Public Lecture which aims to inspire informative action and raise awareness on disability inclusion is titled “Empowering Abilities, Enhancing Inclusion: Creating a Barrier-Free Campus for All” and will be delivered by Dr. Jake Epelle, Founder/CEO, TAD Africa Foundation. The Community Service will feature Repair works, cleaning of the hostel rooms, fixing of damaged slabs, cleaning of water drainages among other services for the PWD at the University of Jos Students' Village Hostel.
The programme holds as follows:
Day One - PWD Awareness Outreach, Sporting Events and Schools Debate
Date: Thursday, 28th November, 2024
Venue: Sports Field, Besides Jos University Primary School, Bauchi Road Campus and Mallam Adamu Adamu Hall, Naraguta Campus.
Time: 9:00am and 4:00pm
Day Two – Disability Inclusion Public Lecture
Date: Friday, 29th November, 2024
Venue: Mallam Adamu Adamu Hall, Naraguta Campus
Time: 10:00am Prompt.
Day Three – Community Service and Public Works Outreach.
Date: Saturday, 30th November, 2024
Venue: UNIJOS Students' Village Hostel, Naraguta Campus
Time: 10:00am Prompt.
