John holds a Master’s degree in Cartography and Geoinformation Sciences from the Regional Centre for Training in Aerospace Surveys (RECTAS) now known as African Regional Institute for Geospatial Information and Science Technology (AFRIGIST), Obafemi Awolowo University Campus, Ife Central, Ife, Nigeria. A PhD in view (Geoinformatics and GIS) at the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, Nigeria. John is a member of the Nigerian Cartographic Association (NCA) and Geoinformation Society of Nigeria (GEOSON).
John’s research interests include cartographic and geospatial analysis, with specific emphasis on design process, symbology, data visualization, climate mitigation and adaptation, spatial analysis, digital landscape modelling, digital cartographic modelling, visual variables, remotely sensed data, graphic user interface and map representation. John has taught for seven years and has over 9 publications to his name and has participated at national conferences. John is Peer Reviewer at the Journal of Urban Planning and Development.
John is a recipient of the William R. Moomaw Fellowship for On-the-job training (OJT) focusing on Climate risks and Early Warning Systems organized by The Green Finance and Technology Center (The Green Center).
