Bot Emmanuel Tok

Bot Emmanuel Tok  has a first degree in geography and a Master’s degree in Environmental and Resources Planning (ERP), which he both obtained from the University of Jos. He is an On The Job Training (OJT) Fellow, William R. Moomaw Fellowship for On-The-Tob Training: Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS), The Green Finance and Technology Center (The Green Center).

In about a decade of lecturing in various aspects of geography, he has 9 publications in his name with participation in many national conferences and workshops. He has held several positions within the University of Jos including Departmental PG Board member, Level Coordinator, Ass. Departmental Library Coordinator, Ass. Field trip Coordinator, Geographical Information System (GIS) Lab. Manager. He is a pioneer staff of the Anthony Nyong Center for Climate and Excellence (ANCCE) and the current acting secretary of the center (ANCCE). His sound understanding of the current global finance architecture through his various interventions and inputs both at the center (ANCCE) and the department of Geography and Planning has led to collaboration with the Plateau State Government, CSOs and NGOs on climate mitigation and related issues such as waste management and environmental sanitation. He has been part of the management of several university project such as the UJ Waste management Project, Uni Jos World Environment day Celebrations, WED 360 Projects, and other relevant engagements.

In 2016, he was appointed as the Secretary, Core Planning Committee for the Yakari Management Plan, saddled with the responsibility of Update the management plan for the Yankari Game Reserve, through local community engagement, environmental harmony and sustainability, and Solving immediate issues such as farmer and elephant conflicts and promoting co –existence. He has also worked with several International and National NGOs including Tallafi UK and CLAIRE Aid Foundation, where he served as ICT Director and Director, Research & Planning/ICT respectively.

Among other awards, he has an Icon Award for Education by the Kuru Development Association (KUDA). He is also a member of the Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG), Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), Geoinformatic Society of Nigeria (GEOSON), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and a nominee fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management Consultants (IMC).
