All candidates must have five (5) O' Level passes at credit level in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any one from Biology, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Economics, Additional/Further Mathematics, Geography and Building Construction.

- Candidates with a Bachelor's degree with at least a Second-Class Honours or its equivalent in the relevant Engineering field from a recognized University.
- Candidates having a Bachelor's degree with at least a Second-Class Upper Honours or its equivalent in allied fields from a recognized university and a Postgraduate Diploma, (PGD), with at least an Upper Units pass in the relevant Engineering field from a recognized university.
- Candidates with a Bachelor's degree with at least a Third Class in the relevant Engineering field and a PGD with at least an Upper Credit Pass in relevant Engineering field from a recognized university.
- Candidates with a Bachelor's degree with at least a Third Class in the relevant Engineering field with at least five (5) years post qualification experience in the relevant field of engineering practice.
- Candidates having HND with at least a Lower Credit pass in the relevant Engineering field and a PGD with at least an Upper Credit pass from a recognized University.

Note: Master of Philosophy (M.Phil)/Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Civil Engineering A candidate seeking admission into an M.Phil/Ph.D any of the Engineering programmes must in addition to the O' Level requirements possess a Master's degree in the relevant Engineering field. M.Phil/Ph.D candidates are in addition required to have returned a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a 5-point scale or a Cumulative Score Average (CSA) of 60% and above in the final assessment result for the Master's Degree as well as 60% and above in the Research Project. On admission, M.Phil/Ph.D candidates register for M.Phil in the first instance and on satisfactory performance may be subsequently upgraded to Ph.D. registration.
