Area of specialization: Nutritional biochemistry and functional foods
Mariam Danladi Solomon is a Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry at the University of Jos,Nigeria where she has worked for the 30 years,teaching and supervising research projects and dissertations at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is also providing teaching and research mentorship to Junior faculties,and community and voluntary services. Has extensive administrative experiences as Head of department,Dean of Faculty,Director SIWES,member of University Governing Councils,member of University Senate,Standing and ad- hoc university committees. Mariam Solomon has researched and published over 40 articles in reputable peer reviewed journals in the areas of complementary and functional foods, evaluation of nutrient potentials of edible I sects and caterpillars.A recipient of several research grants,awards and scholarships. Current research areas include functional foods and nutrigenomic, exploring the potentials of edible insects and caterpillars to mitigate food security.
