Prof. John Stephen Gushit is a Professor of Analytical Chemistry involved in teaching, research and community service at University of Jos, Nigeria. He has hands-on laboratory and field research experience of working with various categories of chemical substances. His research is primarily focused on monitoring the distributions of chemical pollutants and their fate in different environmental sectors, and more recently finding alternatives to synthetic pesticides and other potential life-threatening chemical substances. In addition, he has a research interests that lies at the intersect of ensuring handy water data and water security for sustainable health of end-users. Prof. Gushit is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC) and Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), UK. He is also an Alumnus of the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and Rotary Peace Fellow (RPF). He has published 40+ peer-reviewed papers in national and international high-impact scientific journals.
