PUBLIC NOTICE

DISCLAIMER ON FAKE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT OF UNIJOS VICE-CHANCELLOR 

Management of the University of Jos wishes to notify members of the public of a case of impersonation of the Vice-Chancellor, University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya by some persons via a Facebook page with his pictures and certain other details claiming to be him.

The individual or group of persons operating this Facebook account are doing so with the mischievous intension to misinform, mislead, deceive, dupe or cause disaffection, mistrust, confusion, among other dubious intentions.  

The University is aware that the impersonator(s) is/are already sending different messages to people, notable among which is requesting them to handle certain urgent matters or arrangements for the Vice-Chancellor and providing them with a WhatsApp number 07066508732  through which they can contact him directly. 

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos,  Professor Tanko Ishaya totally dissociates himself from the said Facebook account while calling on the public to beware of the account and disregard any message emanating from it. Any transaction carried out, instructions followed, request obliged or agreement entered into with the account handlers are done at the person’s risk.

The University has alerted the Security Agencies which are in the process of tracking down the impersonator(s) that are using the account to manipulate innocent members of the public.
