The Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Jos has in the last 3 years (since October 2018) played significant roles in Animal health and productivity and prevention of zoonoses. In addition to these roles is the training of Veterinary students in their clinical years. These have been achieved through the commitment of seasoned Consultants and Clinicians in the different clinics and diagnostic laboratories which are as follows:

  • Small animal clinic
  • Large animal clinic
  • Avian and Aquatic animal clinic
  • Diagnostic laboratories (Clinical pathology, Parasitology, Microbiology and Vet. Public Health and Preventive Medicine laboratories). All these laboratories provide services to the clinics. It is also important to mention the necropsy unit which is coordinated by our pathologists.

Our Vision is to be a leading Veterinary Teaching Hospital that is globally competitive and locally relevant in the delivery of Veterinary services and training of competent Veterinary workforce.

Our Mission: To be an innovative research center addressing industrial and community needs while providing modern extension services for easy adaptation of research innovations and employ state-of-the-art technologies in animal production and prompt disease diagnosis, prevention and control.
