COUNCIL DECISION

PROHIBITION OF FARMING ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

The 14th Governing Council of the University of Jos, at its Special Meeting held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 considered the volatile nature of the security situation in the University of Jos and observed that farming activities within the University had posed a very serious security threat to the University.

Council viewed these threats with serious concern because of the attendant facilitation of insecurity these farming activities have caused, as unknown individuals move in and out of the University campus unhindered.

Council, henceforth, prohibits any form of farming activities within the Campuses of the University, either by staff, or members of the surrounding community.

By this memo, all those who are engaged in farming activities on the University land are hereby advised to discontinue and look for alternative land elsewhere.

The above decision of Council is for your information and strict compliance, please.
