The Department of Crop Production is one of the pioneer three Departments established in 2014 at the inception of the New Faculty of Agriculture. The Department will serve to train graduates to be knowledgeable and skillful in the area of Crop Production principles from land preparation, quality seeds, soil fertility and management, pest and diseases management, as well as to have sufficient knowledge of Forestry, Fisheries, Wildlife and water management (irrigation). So, the courses to be taken in this Department is tailored towards achieving the required knowledge and skills by the students. The Department also provides on-the-job practical trainings in the field in terms of farm practice courses in addition to a full fledge one-year Industrial Attachment Training (IT) in their 4th year of study.
